The Honorable Charles Schumer 313 Hart Senate Office Building District of Columbia 20510-3203 Phone: (202) 224-6542 Fax: (202) 228-3027 Dear Senator: I am writing to ask that you come to the aid of SaveScotchValley.com -- an organization that has the goal of reopening Scotch Valley Ski Area. Scotch Valley Ski Area is located between Jefferson and Stamford New York. I believe that this ski resort provided many benefits to the community in the form of jobs, tourism, recreation, exercise, youth activity, community togetherness. It also benefited local businesses and provided income for Delaware and Schoharie counties via tourist sales taxes. SaveScotchValley.com is forming a not-for-profit organization that seeks to purchase the facility and reopen it. I would appreciate any support you can provide for this purpose. Particularly in the form of a grant from the State or Federal government. SaveScotchValley.com wants the resort to be self-sufficient and not rely on the government for annual funding like Belleayre or Gore Mountain, but we really need your assistance purchasing the property. Please join me in supporting SaveScotchValley.com Thank you
